Have you ever heard of a scotch egg? Probably not, and if you’re guessing that it’s from Scotland you would also be wrong. Scotch egg is an English dish that I had the fortune of coming across – a hardboiled egg wrapped in meat, breaded, then fried. And now have the fortune of sharing with you!

How to Cook Like These Guys:
Start by boiling up some eggs
While your eggs are cooking you can season the ground beef– we used Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning
Once eggs are cooked peel them.
Take some ground beef (about 65 grams but you can eyeball it too) and place it between two pieces of plastic wrap.
Flatten the ground beef into an even thin layer. Peel the top piece of plastic wrap of and place the egg into the meat and wrap the meat around the egg completely and tighten the plastic around the egg and place into the fridge (you want the meat to keep the from of the egg)
Remove the egg from the fridge, flour, egg, and bread.
As you all are must be aware of, when These Guys get together we can’t help but make stuffed dishes:
That guy: let’s make schnitzel This guy: sounds good. That guy: and we’ll stuff it This guy: we’ll stuff it with meat? That guy: obviously These Guys: AGREED
Here’s How to Cook Like These Guys:
Take a package of boneless skinless chicken breasts and cut off the tenders and clean up the cut. Take a sharp knife and carefully filet the breast – this is best done on the thicker side of breast as you only want to create a pocket for the meat
Take your ground beef and season it -we used Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and Italian herbs
Take a little meat (Not too much-you don’t want to rip the chicken) and flatten it in your hands and stuff the chicken
VILLAGER #1: If… she.. weighs the same as a duck, she’s made of wood.
BEDEMIR: And therefore–?
“Delicious”, said This Guy.
Whether it is roasted, toasted, grilled, chilled, or basted This Guy will taste it. Duck is one of the 7 known Food Wonders of the World and might be on the top of that lofty, delicious mountain. Chicken is amazing and turkey is fine, but duck is simply divine anytime.
Why have a bird with white meat, when you can have dark meat throughout?
Yes, the perfect meal does indeed have to include duck, the most succulent of the Aves.
As I go to sleep tonight, this will be playing in my head:
That guy made some delicious Sloppy Joe’s. (Recipe adapted from Rachel Ray)

Sloppy Joe’s:
Tablespoon of olive oil
One pound ground beef
Quarter cup Brown sugar
One tablespoon meat seasoning
Small to medium onion finely diced
Tablespoon red wine vinegar
Tablespoon worschestire sauce(please note that there are kashrut concerns with mixing meat and fish. Be sure to get a brand of sauce that does not contain fish. The best way to make 100% sure is to check the ingredients)
Two cups tomato sauce
Two tablespoons tomato paste
Garlic powder
Toasted rolls
How to cook like one of These Guys:
Heat olive oil in skillet and add in ground beef. Mix together sugar and meat seasoning and add to meat. Add onions and mix. Cook until meat has browned. Turn to medium heat. Add garlic powder, vinegar, and worschestire sauce. Let cook for a few minutes. Add tomato sauce and paste turn up heat to cook off extra water and reduce. Once the Joe’s are the right “sloppy” consistency turn off heat and serve over toasted buns (hehehe – buns 🙂 )
